Reflections on Revolt: if we whisper at the same time I’ll remember everything, 2025

Solo show, 1927, Kypseli, Athens

This exhibition was a creative exploration of abortion, loss, and trauma, taking an active (counter)position within the social context where abortion decisions are often made. It extends the ongoing work of the artist, who investigates the emotional landscape surrounding pregnancy termination, treating the personal as political.

The exhibition reflects on works from her personal archive (2021–2025), offering an intimate yet collective dialogue on these experiences. It seeks to reframe the rhetoric around abortion and reproductive rights. By visualising and giving form to this often invisible loss, it invites the public into a reimagined space—one of care, confrontation, and collective memory.

At its core, the exhibition asks: How do we express compassion on both social and personal levels? What does it mean to revolt against systems that regulate the body? How does identity shift and fracture after a traumatic experience? Through a process of turning the body inside out, the exhibition rewrites the oppressive histories surrounding loss and abortion. It encourages open acknowledgment, dialogue, and, ultimately, action—offering a space where more people can understand, connect, and imagine a future of reproductive autonomy.
